Sturmgeschütz (StuG) III

5th & 6th August 2017
Baston, Lincs PE6 9PA
10am - 5pm daily

Welcome to Baston in the Blitz 2017! Following our enormously successful 2016 show, preparation is now well underway for an even bigger and better event for you in 2017, with more traders (over 50 this year!) and many more displays and re-enactors. In addition to the return of military and home-front living history groups who have displayed at Baston previously, we have many more new and varied groups who will be joining us for the first time this year. The total number booked to attend so far is 51 groups, so there will be plenty to interest everyone!

Our popular WW2 battle re-enactments have been taken to a new level of authenticity this year with the participation of a mighty Sturmgeschütz (StuG) III assault gun (see the image at bottom left) and it's powerful 75mm gun. Not to be missed!

One of the most impressive new displays that we bring you this year is the Great Escape P.O.W. Experience. This consists of a replica prisoner-of-war compound complete with Allied prisoners and German guards where you can get a feel for life behind barbed wire as endured by our P.O.W.s in WW2.

We're pleased to welcome back Terry Arlow's Spitfire Mk.IX which once again gives visitors the opportunity to have their photo taken in the cockpit. Another newcomer to our show this year is Martin Willoughby's superb Avro Lancaster fuselage display inside of which visitors can experience how our brave RAF bomber boys took the war into the enemy's own backyard during the dark days of WW2.

We have a fresh new entertainment line-up this year which includes Paula Marie and Kevin Mack, plus some of your old favourites including Harmony Belle, the George Formby Experience (aka Paul Casper) and the cheeky cockney pearly king, Rosie Rose. As always, our entertainment will run continuously in the big marquee all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Our provisonal entertainment programme is now available for viewing and can be accessed by clicking on the link at the top of the page.

In response to public demand, we have introduced a range of official event merchandise. Although originally intended to be unveiled at this year's event, some of the range is available for purchase now. Please click on the 'Event Merchandise' button at the top of the page.

Please do come and enjoy the very special 1940's event experience that is Baston in the Blitz!
